After a "royal" breakfast and a good night sleep, we will drive a short distance away to the medieval village of Rocamadour, the city that hangs on a cliff! "Historic shrine perched on a limestone cliff, Rocamadour tells a story of religious belief and human endeavour.
Looking out over the gorge of the River Alzou, this city devoted to the Virgin Mary has remained for over nine hundred years a symbol of faith and hope."

We will take a private guided tour of this fascinating city and have lunch on site. You will have time to shop and explore on your own or relax on the patio of a cafe.

By mid afternoon, we will leave with plenty of photos in our cameras and memories to last a lifetime. Our next destination is the The Château de Codignat. This superb 15th century castle will surprise you with its towers, a dungeon, courtines and machicolations.
A small briefing about the history of the place followed by a welcome drink before a grandiose dinner and the night is yours. Sweet dreams...

Your Hotel Tonight

Le Château de Codignat

In Lower Auvergne, in this region of volcanoes, Codignat is an authentic XVth century château. Turrets, a dungeon, courtines and a machicolation: it is indeed the Haute Epoque style which this proud building embodies. The elegance, richness of the decor and furniture, splendid trompe l’œil frescoes in the bathrooms with private whirlpool, refined candle-lit dining... All combined with state-of-the-art service.
